The growing number of independent payroll providers in the U.S. is a driving force in today’s economy – creating new jobs, providing companies with practical payroll and HR solutions, paying millions of American workers and representing billions in annual tax deposits.
In 1997, the Independent Payroll Employer Services Association (IPESA) was formed by a small group of owners who saw the clear need for an organization made up of independent payroll owners, protecting their unique business interests. IPESA held its first meeting, inviting any majority owner in a payroll service bureau to attend no matter their software preference. Word spread quickly about the new organization. IPESA eventually changed its name to IPPA and added the tagline “For Every Stage of Business.”
Today, IPPA’s nearly 200 members represent “the best of the best” of small, medium and large independent payroll providers across the United States. IPPA members have a proven track record of dedication to the industry – standing up for best business practices, serving clients with the utmost integrity, advancing technology and fighting for fair industry policies – the values on which IPPA was founded.
IPPA is considered the leading advocate for the independent payroll provider in monitoring and influencing government legislation for the protection of owner’s businesses and growth potential.
